Football Tasmania has named McDonald’s Australia as their major sponsor for 2022, with the partnership set to deliver new opportunities for Tasmanians at all levels of the game.
In what comes as significant news for the growth of the number one sport in the state, McDonald’s will take on naming rights for the National Premier Leagues Tasmania (NPL) state-wide men’s competition and support the men’s, women’s and under-19 state-wide cup competitions.
The partnership will also help boost the development of the next generation of Tasmanian football stars, with McDonald’s working alongside the state youth representative teams, Skills Acquisition Phase (SAP) Festivals, junior tournaments and youth competitions.
Football Tasmania CEO Matt Bulkeley believes the partnership with McDonald’s will help take Tasmanian football to the next level.
“Football is already enjoyed by more Tasmanians than any other team sport. We’re delighted to partner with McDonalds to promote the World Game and help even more Tasmanians develop a love for football,” Bulkeley said.
“By sponsoring football at all levels, from junior cups and state teams, right up to statewide cups and the NPL, McDonalds will play a big role in seeing Tasmanian football continue to grow in both participation and the benefit it brings to the community.”
McDonald’s Australia Market Director of Southern Region, Brad McMullen, reaffirmed the importance of the collaboration with Football Tasmania.
“McDonald’s has a long and proud history of getting behind Aussie sport and we can’t wait to join the team in 2022,” he said.
“This is an exciting opportunity to provide much-needed support for the training and development of our local players and encourage all Tasmanians to give football a go.”
