International fan engagement platform, MatchWornShirt, has kicked off a partnership with the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). Presented by Budweiser, this gives fans around the world chance to own a worn and signed piece of the 2022 NWSL Championship.
The movement of the NWSL has been indisputable, ever since the league expanded from 8 to 12 teams in 2017, giving the states around the United States the opportunity to provide their local fans with a team to support as well as showcasing new talent.
The jerseys being worn by the players on the pitch are so much more than pieces of polyester – they are symbolic emblems of pride, passion and hope, and these jerseys were worn in the recent final which Portland Thorns defeated Kansas City 2-0 at Audi Field in Washington DC. It is the ultimate item and a physical embodiment of an iconic sporting moment.
Each jersey represents the passion and glory of the final and remains intact, including being unwashed. After the game each jersey was signed by a few players to further secure the jersey status as an unparalleled segment of memorabilia.
NWSL Chief Revenue Officer Mitch Poll said via press release:
