Football Queensland can confirm that five Queensland clubs have applied for a National Premier Leagues Women’s (NPLW) Queensland licence for the 2020 season.
The five clubs who have applied for an NPLW licence for 2020 are Virginia United FC, Ipswich City FC, Brisbane City FC, Sunshine Coast FC and Olympic FC.
Applications for NPLW licences for the 2020 season have now closed, and the auditing and assessment process will now commence.
The selection panel will include two independent female members; Matildas Assistant Coach and former Brisbane Roar W-League Head Coach Mel Andreatta and the Chair of Football Federation Australia’s Women’s Football Council Ros Moriarty, plus FQ State Technical Director Gabor Ganczer and FQ President Ben Richardson.
The four members of the selection panel will assess each NPLW licence application independently of their fellow assessors, with each application to be assessed against a set criteria with points allocated.
When complete, the four assessors will undertake a moderation session to discuss any outlier scores and anomalies before scores are tabulated and ranked with notes for each.
Assessments will then be ranked and presented to the FQ board on Monday, 30 September with a recommendation on the issuing of up to three additional NPLW licences.
