Sydney FC have agreed a one-year A-League Women’s and Sydney FC Academy partnership with family-owned Australian property group, Billbergia.
Billbergia are a residential, commercial, retail and hospitality development company with over 33 years of experience in creating communities within Sydney and New South Wales.
The partnership will see the Billbergia logo presented on the sleeve of the Sky Blues’ A-League Women’s jersey, as well as the back of the shorts on all Sydney FC Youth Academy playing kits.
Sydney FC Chief Executive Officer Danny Townsend welcomed Billbergia with excitement for the future.
“Billbergia are an excellent addition to our ever-increasing group of corporate partners, and we are looking forward to enjoying a great year working with them,” he said.
“They have a large passion for building, creating and inspiring communities which are key values and pillars in Sydney FC’s own mission.
“We are excited about how we can help each other leverage these passions and are looking forward to building a long-term successful relationship.”
Billbergia’s most recent developments include the Wentworth Point Town Centre and the Rhodes Central precinct, complete with Heliostat Tower topping out the building.
“The Sydney FC partnership adds to a long line of Billbergia investments in supporting players across multiple sports, and across all ages and abilities. It will provide great benefit to the local area,” Billbergia Managing Director and owner John Kinsella AM said.
“We’ve seen that Sydney FC’s community football engagement is the strongest and most wide-reaching in the country.
“Football is a huge part of our community with many millions around Australia playing and following the game.
“Our aim is about creating communities and by partnering and investing with Sydney FC, who are sports leaders in this area, we believe we can make even more of a difference.
“For us, creating communities means investing in an environment that brings families and community members together, and inspires and promotes healthy, active lifestyles.”
The property group has also entered into an agreement with Canada Bay Council to construct a $70m community recreation centre at Rhodes, including a gym and multi-purpose courts, and has proposed an agreement with Parramatta Council to construct community multi-purpose indoor courts at neighbouring Wentworth Point.
Sky Blues A-League Women’s players Charlotte McLean and Cortnee Vine visited the Rhodes tower to help announce the partnership.
