Bentleigh Greens Soccer Club has been confirmed by Football Victoria as the club filling the vacancy in the 2026 NPL Women’s competition.
The announcement marks a major milestone for the south-east Melbourne club, which will become one of just six in Victoria to field both men’s and women’s senior teams in the state’s top-tier competitions.
The club said the inclusion represents a significant step forward in Bentleigh Greens’ commitment to the growth of women’s football and their ambition to contribute to the game’s continued development at the elite level.
Bentleigh Greens will now work alongside Football Victoria and other NPL clubs to help drive standards across the competition and further elevate women’s football throughout the state.
Bentleigh Greens President Abraam Gregoriou expressed his excitement for the club’s women’s program.
“We are incredibly grateful to Football Victoria for this opportunity. It’s a moment of pride for our club, our community, and everyone who has supported the growth of women’s football in the south-east,” he said in a media release.
“We won’t waste this opportunity—our NPL campaign starts now. We’re committed to building a program that reflects the ambition, talent, and passion of our region.”
The club also acknowledged the support of sponsors Guzman y Gomez, Metricon Homes, Attiki and Dalton Consulting, who have backed its senior women’s program in 2025.
This news follows the recent club announcement of a $2.4 million investment to build a new pitch at Kingston Heath Soccer Complex, dedicated to growing women’s football.
This strengthens the pathway for aspiring female footballers in Victoria and reinforces Bentleigh Greens’ ambitions in growing the women’s game in the South-East.
