Artist impression designs have been released for the new facilities at Templestowe Road, which will benefit residents living in Bulleen.
The large amounts of football players in the eastern suburb of Melbourne will hugely benefit from fresh upgrades, which is part of the North East Link Program’s current investment in local sport.
The state-of-the-art sports precinct will include three football fields, featuring one synthetic pitch – as well as a pavilion with an all-inclusive dressing room and provisions, a car park area that has 176 spaces, and a walking path for pedestrians and cycling connections to the Yarra River.
Development Victoria will be in charge of the delivery of the project at 27-59 Templestowe Road, which is where the site of the former Bulleen Golf Driving Range was, with 2Construct having been designated as the construction contractor. Meanwhile, the Manningham Council will take the lead of the usage of the new facilities by the local clubs and the broader community.
As a statutory corporation, Development Victoria was established on April 1, 2017, and operates on behalf of the Victorian Government to carry out government policy through property development and urban renewal to achieve social and economic end results for the citizens of Victoria.
Some of the policies they are guided by are to:
- Deliver a portfolio that has a variety of covering residential, commercial, public land and buildings
- Re-energise land and buildings to create a legacy in projects that shape the future while celebrating the past
- Strengthen environments and upgrade communities in the areas that individuals work in
Construction is set to begin early this year, with the football pitches likely to be ready for play in 2024, to make certain that local sports clubs continue to succeed in the process of the North East Link construction going on at Bulleen Park.
