Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) have announced that Southern Lakes United FC have achieved five-star accreditation in the National Club Development Program.
In achieving the highest honour for a club, Southern Lakes United FC have showcased a quality of governance that will grow the club at a sustainable level in the near future.
NNSWF Club Development Officer, Phillip Andrews, believes the Southern Lakes United FC committee has worked hard to significantly improve the governance of the football club, whilst also developing improved opportunities for all members.
“The club is doing a lot of things right,” Andrews said.
“The governance is strong with transparency of leadership and communication as clear strong points. Using TeamApp for communication to members has changed the way the club can get important current information to members.
“The club has implemented every recommendation made by NNSWF including running a Kick-On program that has reinvigorated interest in adult female football in the club.
“In term 4 2020, the club delivered a Kick-Off program to introduce young footballers to the game and was overwhelmed with more than 30 registrations.
“Southern Lakes United FC is a motivated contributor to the local community providing positive experiences for players and their families engaging with football in the local area. The club is pro-active in supporting coaches and developing young referees through a game leader program.
“We look forward to continue working with the club as it further develops football opportunities,” he concluded.
